• Benefits from tracebility through RFID tags
LINPAC Materials Handling in Atlantis, the original producer of Southern Africa’s largest plastic bin, was bought by paper group Mondi and renamed Mondi Plastic Containers in 2007. The company will now be rebranded as Mpact Plastic Containers South Africa, in line with the rebranding of the rest of the Mondi Packaging companies. We are well positioned to focus on new opportunities for company growth through the Mpact brand. The Mpact group, which is extensively involved in paper packaging, owns 51% of the converting operation. Early 2011, MPCSA acquired the waste bin manufacturing interests of Plastics Omnium France. This business gave MPCSA the opportunity to manufacture and distribute to its customers from a site in Gauteng.

Mpact Plastic Containers is the SA manufacturer of the Jumbo Bin, the 38kg shot weight answer to the wood bin, which was used exclusively, until recently, for the bulk transport of agricultural produce. It has been producing the plastic bins on a 5500t Engel Duo machines at Atlantis since 2004.
Mpact Plastic Containers has two manufacturing sites, one in Cape Town and the other in Gauteng. The Cape Town factory manufactures the Jumbo Bin, a 38kg one piece bin in competition to the wood bin, which until recently was used exclusively, for the bulk transport and storage of agricultural produce. The bin is produced on a 5500t Engel Duo machine, which is the largest machine of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. The Gauteng factory manufactures wheelie bins for the rufuse collection and containment market. Mpact also produces a range of other crates, trays and related packaging items to meet the needs of our clients across industries.
